Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened1 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 cup milk 1/4 cup molasses 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey 2 cups raisins 2 cups chopped pecans
Directions:
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.Combine next 4 ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. CSombine molasses and baking soda; add to creamed mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9-x5-x3-inch loafpan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Refrigerate cake for easier slicing. Yield: one 9-inch loaf
