Ingredients:
1 gallon apple cider1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 3 sticks cinnamon 15 to 20 whole cloves(tied in a cheesecloth bag) 1/2 cup butter(recommended instead of margarine)
Directions:
In a large saucepan, combine cider, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves and butter. Simmer until brown sugar is dissolved, butter is melted, and mixture is warm. Remove and discard cinnamon sticks and spice bag.Pour into warmed insulated jugs for taking to a football game, or ladle into warmed mugs for serving at home. Makes 16(1 cup) servings. If desired, omit the butter for a simple, warm spiced cider drink.
