Calzone Recipe

  Italian Brunch

Ingredients:
10 oz. refrigerated pizza dough (or make your own)
1 egg
Grated Parmesan cheese
Filling:
12 oz. Italian sausage
1/2 c. pizza sauce
4 oz. mozzerlla cheese (1c.)
2 oz. can mushroom stems & pieces, drain

Directions:
Roll or stretch dough into 10 x 15 rectangle. Cut into 6 5" squares. Divide filling among squares. Brush edges with water. Lift one corner and stretch dough over to the opposite corner. Press edges of dough well with fork to seal. Arrange on greased baking sheet. Prick tops with fork. Combine egg and 1 tsp water. Brush onto calzones. Sprinkle with Parmesan, if desired. Bake 425 for 8-10 min. Let stand 5 min. before serving.

In a skillet cook the sausage till broned and crumbly. Drain. Stir in pizza sauce, cheese and mushrooms.
