Angel Biscuits Recipe | |

Ingredients:
5 cups flour1/4 cup sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt 1 cup shortening 2 Tlb. yeast 2 Tlb. warm water 2 cups buttermilk 1 stick margarine, melted
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. In large bowl cut in shortening until it looks like cornmeal. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand for 5 minutes. Add yeast mixture to buttermilk. Add buttermilk-yeast mixture to flour mixture; mix well. Turn out on floured board. Pat or roll dough to 1 inch. Cut with biscuit cutter. Dip each biscuit in margarine and place in greased baking pan. Bake in preheated oven 450 degrees for about 12 minutes or until golden brown. |
