Ingredients:
4 cups flour1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon mace 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon allspice 1/4 teaspoon anise oil 3/4 cup molasses 3/4 cup honey 3/4 cup butter or margarine 1 egg, beaten
Directions:
Sift all dry ingredients together. Place molasses and honey in pan and warm - don't boil. Add butter and stir to melt. Cool; add egg. Stir into dry ingredients - do not overmix. Let stand 15 minutes. Roll into little balls. Bake on greased cookie sheet 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees. If desired, roll in powdered sugar while still warm.Makes a lot, but don't be tempted to make the balls bigger.
These are great dunked in coffee or hot chocolate.
