Ingredients:
1 = lb. beef stew meat, cutinto =-inch cubes 1/4 c. flour 3 tsp. salt (optional) pepper shortening 4 small onions, sliced 2 c. hot water 1 beef bouillon cube mushrooms 4 whole cloves 4 whole allspice 1 c. sliced carrots 0= c. celery, sliced
Directions:
Dredge beef in flour; mix with salt and pepper. Brownin shortening, turning as needed to brown evenly. Add onions, water, bouillon, mushrooms, cloves and allspice. Cover tight- ly. Simmer 2 hours. Add remaining vegetables. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes. |
