HUNGRY BOY'S CASSEROLE Recipe | |
British Stew | |
Ingredients:
1/2 lb. ground beef1 c. sliced celery 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped green pepper 6 oz. can tomato paste 1= T curry powder or to taste place curry in pan b4 the meat and veg, 3/4 c. water 1 (1 lb.) can baked beans 1 (1 lb.) can chick peas 1 (1 lb.) can lima beans, undrained 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tsp. salt and pepper 1 tsp. paprika 1/2 c. pimento olives, sliced (use for biscuits)
Directions:
Sauth in large skillet ground beef, celery, onion, greenpepper and garlic. Cook until tender. Add water, tomato paste, salt and paprika (reserve 1 cup for biscuits). Add baked beans, limas and chick peas. Simmer while preparing biscuits. Place meat and vegetables in 9 x 13-inch pan. Roll biscuits out in 12 x 9-inch rectangle. Combine olives and reserved meat mixture. Spread over biscuit dough, starting with 12 inside; seal up edges. Cut into 1-inch pieces and place on meat mixture in pan. Bake in a preheated 425: oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. |
