YELLOW SPLIT PEA SOUP Recipe | |
Belgian Soup | |
Ingredients:
1 c. yellow split peas1 ham bone 8 c. (2 liters) water 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 3 medium carrots, chopped 4 Tbsp. chopped parsley 1 medium onion, chopped 1/4 lb. diced ham salt and pepper 1/2 tsp. sherry
Directions:
Soak the peas in enough water to cover for severalhours; drain. Put the peas in the crockery pot with ham bone, water, mustard, carrots, parsley and onion. Cover and cook on low setting of 200 degrees or 100 degreesC for 8 to 10 hours. Remove the ham bone and cut off any meat. Dice the meat and return to the soup. Add the ham, salt and pepper to taste and the sherry to taste |
