Ingredients:
1/2 cup onion, chopped1/2 cup celery, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 3 tblsp. vegetable oil 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes 1 (8 oz.) can seasoned tomato sauce 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tblsp. Worcestershire sauce Dash of Tabasco 2 tsp. cornstarch 4 tsp. cold water 2 lbs. raw shrimp 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped Cooked rice
Directions:
Cook onion, celery, and garlic in hot oil until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.Mix cornstarch and water; stir into sauce. Cook and stir until mixture thickens. Add shrimp, green pepper and parsley. Simmer for 5 minutes or until shrimp are just done. Serve with cooked rice. Serves 5 or 6. |
