Muesli/Toasted Muesli Recipe

Ingredients:
6 cups of rolled oats
2 cups of wheat germ
1 cup of brown sugar

Directions:
In a large bowl thoroughly mix all the basic ingredients listed above. Optionally add = a cup of desiccated coconut, 4 to 8 tablespoons of chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pecans, peanuts) and 2 to 4 tablespoons of seeds (sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds).

For toasted muesli, preheat the oven to 180C, 350F or gas mark 4. Pour the basic ingredients, nuts, seeds and coconut into a large roasting tray. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes stirring every 5 minutes so that the muesli doesn't stick or burn. Allow to cool.

Add 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of chopped dried fruit (raisins, sultanas, currants, apricots, apples, dates, pears, papaya, pineapple, figs, banana chips or dried yoghurt covered raisins) and store in an airtight container.
