Southern Pecan French Toast Recipe | |

Ingredients:
NIGHT BEFORE:French bread cut into 1 inch slices 6 whole eggs or egg substitute 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cups milk and 1 1/2 cups half and half (may use fat free if desired) IN THE MORNING: Mix a topping of: 1/2 cup soft butter or margarine 1 cup brown sugar 3 tablespoons dark corn syrup 1 cup chopped pecans
Directions:
NIGHT BEFORE:Spray 9"x13" pan. Place bread slices in pan. Mix the above "NIGHT BEFORE" ingredients and pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight. IN THE MORNING: Combine all the above "IN THE MORNING" ingredients to make the topping. Spread the topping over the bread slices. Bake at 350 until golden brown, about 40 minutes. |
