Easy Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 c. walnuts, optional
1/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. mashed bananas, 4-5 bananas

Directions:
In a mixing bowl cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to cream mixture, alternating with bananas, beating well after each addition. Add nuts. Pour into greased 8x4x3' loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Remove from oven let stand 10 minutes, then take out and cool on a wire rack.
Yield: 1 loaf
