Ingredients:
1/4 cup vegetable shortening1 pound lean ground beef 1 large onion chopped 1 clove garlic minced 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 or 2 cups thick strained tomato puree
Directions:
In a saucepan, brown the ground beef in shortening, stirring and mashing during cooking: meat should not be in lumps.Add onion when meat is about half cooked. Add cumin, chili powder, salt, garlic, tomato puree; simmer about 30 minutes Serve this sauce hot over hot dogs in buns.
