Christmas Almond Spritz Cookies Recipe

  German Cookie

Ingredients:
3 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 c almonds, ground
1 1/2 cups butter or margarine
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. In a blender grind the almonds to a powder-fine consistency. In another mixing bowl, combine margarine, egg, vanilla, and extract. Beat in dry ingredients until the dough is too heavy for the mixer, then stir the rest in. Pack dough into cookie press. Press out desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheet, spaced 1" apart. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until cookies are pale gold in color. Decorate as desired.
