Wedding Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
6 eggs
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon mace
1 teaspoon allspice
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup grape juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup orange juice
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. currants
1/2 lb. candied citron
1/4 lb. candied lemon peel
1/4 lb. candied orange peel
1 lb.pitted dates
1/2 cup candied cherries
1/2 cup candied pineapple
1/4 lb. blanched almonds, cut

Directions:
1.Cream shortening and sugar. Add well beaten eggs and beat thoroughly.

2. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with fruit juices.

3. Fold in fruit, peel and almonds. Bake in a paper lined greased (Mirro)aluminum tubed cake at 275 degrees F. for 2 1/2 to 3 hours
