Stuffed Cabbage Rolls(Amish) Recipe | |

Ingredients:
12 large cabbage leaves1 1/4 lbs. ground beef 1 cup cooked rice 1 small onion, chopped 1 egg 2 T. salad oil 2-8 oz. cans tomato sauce 1/4 cup water 1 T. brown sugar 1 T. lemon juice or vinegar
Directions:
Pour boiling water over leaves and let sit until limp. Combine beef, rice, onion and egg; divide into 12 equal portions. Place a portion on each leaf and roll up. Fasten each roll with a toothpick and brown in the salad oil.Meanwhile, combine tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Pour over cabbage rolls and simmer 1 hour. Serves 4-6 |
