Ingredients:
Filling:l cup molasses l heaping teasp soda l cup boiling water 2/3 of the crumb mixture Crumbs: 3 heaping cups sifted flour l cup sugar l/2 cup butter pinch of salt
Directions:
Line 2 8" pie pans with rich pastry of your choice. Dissolve soda in molasses, stir till it foams, add boiling water. Mix crumbs. Add 2/3 crumb mixture to filling mixture, blend, and spread in bottom of pies. Scatter remaining crumb mixture over top of pies. Bake at 375 for about l/2 hour, till crumbs and crust are golden.This recipe came from Lehigh County. PA
