Cold Oven Pound Cake Recipe

3 1/2 sticks butter (Margarine may be substituted)
2 cups sugar
6 eggs (at room temperature)
3 cups flour
1 Tablespoon Lemon Extract
1 Tablespoon Vanilla extract

Cream butter (make sure it is somewhat softened, not rock hard out of the refrigerator) and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time;beat well after each addition. Add flour slowly and beat 2 to 3 minutes. Add extracts, and beat briefly to blend in. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Place in a COLD oven, then set heat to 300*F.. Bake 1 hour and 30 to 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

20 to 25 servings
This somewhat unusually baked pound cake is easy to prepare, and freezes well.
