Corn Bread Recipe

  American Bread

Ingredients:
1 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar*
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. oil
1 egg
1 c. milk

Directions:
Combine dry ingredients in bowl and mix well. Combine oil, eggs and milk together; mix well. Sift into dry ingredients until just blended. Pour into well-buttered 8 inch square pan. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 25 minutes or until done. Serve warm with butter. *Can leave this out if you don't like sweet cornbread. Note: Recipe may be doubled. Pour into 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake as above.
