 Ingredients: 
            2 lg.onions (about 1 3/4 lb.), halved and thinly sliced1/4 cup butter, melted 3 tbsp. flour 4 cups chicken broth 1 cup half and half 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 1 tbsp. chopped green bell pepper 1/4 tsp. white pepper 
 Directions: 
           Saute onion in butter until tender; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute.Gradually add chicken broth, simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Stir often. Add half and half and remaining ingredients. Cook until cheese melts and soup is heated. Makes 7 cups.
