Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal1/2 cup flour 2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg buttermilk - about 1 cup (no sugar if you are from the south)
Directions:
Put dry ingredients into a bowl. Break the egg into this and put in enough buttermilk to make batter about like cake batter.Pour into a well greased Iron Skillet and bake in a 450 degree oven for 15 min. or until done. (6 inch skillet)
I have no idea!
This is my 86 yr. old Arkansas mothers recipe. She has been making it for at least 70 yrs. It is good & moist.
