California-Walnut Sauce Recipe

  American Dessert

Ingredients:
1 c. light corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. maple flavoring (opt)
1 1/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts.

Directions:
Place all in heavy saucepan, bring to a boil, cover; simmer about 25 minutes. Cook, and cover tightly. Refrigerate. Makes about 2 cups.
For ice cream, steamed pudding or gingerbread, served hot or cold. Recipe does not say unripe walnuts.
