Ingredients:
Batter:1 cup flour Salt and Pepper 1 egg 1 cup milk 6 sausages or more 1 sliced onion or more 3 Tablespoons butter 1/4 lb. muschrooms 1/2 lb. tomatoes, sliced
Directions:
Mix the batter until it is smooth and shiny and let stand while you proceed. Put sausages in ovenproof dish and cook in a 400 degree F oven for 10 minutes while you saute the onion in butter; add the mushrooms to the onions, then the tomatores, and cook for a few minutes. Spread the vegetables over the sausages and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour the batter over the vegetables and sausage and bake at 400 F for about 30 minutes. You are correct, I remember a Toad In The Hole
recipe on the Bisquick box, but this is pretty close and very good.
