Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

  Cakes

Ingredients:
3 sticks butter or margarine
6 T. cocoa
1 1/2 cups boiling water
3 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1 1/2 t. soda
1 cupp buttermilk
3 eggs
1 1/2 t. vanilla

Frosting:
1 stick butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T. buttermilk.
1 box powdered sugar
Heat all until melted. Can add nuts. Spread on cake while still hot.

Directions:
Mix the butter, cocoa and boiling water. Stir until melted. Add the sugar, flour, and soda. Mix well and then add the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Bake in a sheet cake pan.
I also have directions for a smaller cake....cookie sheet size if you'd like. This is one of our favorites.
