Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. stewing beef, diced6 oz. kidney, sliced 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced 1 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup parsley 1/2 bay leaf, crumbled 1 cup butter 3 cups shifted self-rising flour 1 cup milk 1 tsb. salt
Directions:
Put beef, kidneys, mushrooms, onion, parsley, bay leaf and salt in baking dish with 2 cups of water. Cut butter into flour until it resembles coarse meal. Add milk and mix lightly to form soft dough. Turn out on floured board and roll 1/8-inch thick. Place on top of baking dish. Cut slits in dough to let steam escape. Bake in a slow oven (325 degrees F) for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Serves 6
