Vidalia Onion Pie Recipe | |
American Vegetable | |
Ingredients:
Since I live in the South I think Vidalia's are as good or BETTER than Walla Walla's. However that's another story:4 medium thinly sliced Vidalia's (or Walla's, if you insist) 1 stick butter 3 eggs, beaten 1 c. sour cream 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper Dash Tabasco 1 pie shell, unbaked
Directions:
Saute onions in butter. Combine eggs & sour cream & add to onion mixture. Add seasonings & pour into pie shell, then sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 450 for 20 minutes, reduce heat to 325 and continue baking another 20 minutes. Serves 6.I like to prebake the pie shell about 5 minutes to prevent soggy crust. You can substitute Walla's if you can't get Vidalias.
