Thin Batter (for deep frying) Recipe | |

Ingredients:
For deep frying:1 cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 cup milk 1/4 cup salad oil
Directions:
Prepare food to be fried(see suggested foods below). Thaw frozen foods completely before frying. Dry foods thoroughly before dipping into batter. Heat fat or oil(3 to 4 inches) to 375 degrees F. in deep fat fryer or kettle. Measure all ingredients for batter into bowl; beat with rotary beater until smooth.To deep-fry foods: Coat prepared food with flour. With tongs or fork, dip food into batter, allowing excess batter to drip into bowl; fry in hot fat until golden brown. Drain.
Suggested Foods to Deep-fry:
Appetizer or Main Dish: Whole shrimp, scallops, oysters, fish fillets. chicken pieces(partially cooked), cutlets.
Vegetables: Eggplant slices, cauliflowerets, onion rings, zucchini slices.
Fruits: Pineapple slices, bananas(quartered), apple slices, apricot halves
