My Mom probably got this recipe from her local newspaper back in the late 60's or so. It was REAL impressive the first time she did it.
This is a favorite for an attention getter after a fancy meal. And, besides that, it tastes great. you just can't go wrong with chocolate pudding, Oreo cookies, and whipped topping.

This could be made like typical Orzo fruit salads but using chocolate pasta instead. |

No need to use a mix when you can make these delicious, light, chewy brownies just about as fast. They are delicious served warm or at room temperature. Cocoa packs a lot of chocolate flavor, but has less fat than solid chocolate. For a fancier dessert, serve with warm caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. |

| Marbled Chocolate-Cream Cheese Brownies |
Dessert |
American |
|
These are a nice change from pure chocolate brownies, but are just as easy to make. The marbling dresses them up; the cream cheese gives them richness. Bake these when you are expecting a crowd, and serve them with ice cream or fruit. |

The best part about preparing these brownies is that you mix everything right in the top pan of a double boiler. |

To cut the fat and boost the flavor, I substitute a banana for butter in these moist, sweet brownies. |
| Mallow and Red Currant Cups |
Dessert |
American |
|
A brilliant fusion of summer berries and mallow flowers creates an enchanting dessert that sits lightly on the palate. Use mallow, hibiscus, malva, lavatera, or hollyhock. |
| White Chocolate Brownies |
Dessert |
American |
|
The original recipe calls for unsweetened and bittersweet chocolates, but i've put my personal spin on it because i'm a huge fan of white chocolate. |

This is the best chocolate pie I have made/eaten in my life. The trick is that you must beat the ingredients for 10 minutes or the pie will not be the consistancy you would like. It sounds like the one you have described. My father got it from a diner owner who would not tell him the ingredients until the day she retired 40 years after opening the diner. It's worth it. |
| Boysenberry Sorbet and Cream Swirl |

If fresh boysenberries are not available, substitute blackberries or use frozen, unsweetened boysenberries or blackberries, thawed and drained. If you do not have an ice-cream maker, freeze the sorbet in a 9-by-13-inch glass dish, stirring with a fork every hour until the sorbet is set, about 6 hours. This will produce a granita with an icy texture rather than a smooth sorbet. |

I have never made this and I'm not sure what "vanilla essence" is, but I assume it's vanilla extract. I have a large collection of rhubarb recipes. |

This is can be made with rice flour instead of any wheat products. Brown rice syrup or apple butter can be substituted for maple syrup, however, more liquid may be necessary. |

SERVING SUGGESTION: I spoon a pool of custard sauce onto individual dessert plates, place an apple in each pool, and drizzle the tops with the custard sauce. |

The author suggests serving this alone or with creme anglaise. I also like to serve it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. If I'm by myself, I love it in a bowl in a pool of unwhipped, unsweetened cream. |
